Rocky River Bluegrass

Rocky River Spring Festival (10444 Rocky River Road, Rock Island, TN 38581) a great venue for bluegrass and this was a great day weather-wise ...

IMHO one of the best bands of the day was Full Steam Ahead who kicked off the program ...

Great fiddle and banjo ... Tyme Line from Cookeville, TN

Other bands (not pictured) were Picking To Beat The Devil, Ringgold, GA featuring a lead singer/guitar/harmonica player who could have been a character from a well known TV show about duck hunters .. this band used several original humorous songs ... and the Merry Makers from Rome, GA another north GA band but with a difference - all ladies. They put on a good show and it was obvious they were enjoying themselves.

Joyce, usually seen playing an upright bass with the Lantana Drifters, is getting to be a standout ventriloquist performing with her pal Wesley ...

The TN & KY Bluegrass band from Algood put out some great sounds that had the crowd dancing ...

Valley Grass from the Dunlap area minus their mandolin player ... my personal favorite that Terry Hatfield sang today was a Del McCoury cover, 1952 Vincent Black Lightning.
